A Day in the Chair: The Total Hair Transformation Journey

It all began with care and protection. Before anything else touched her strands, a layer of scalp protector was gently applied along her hairline and throughout the scalp to ensure her comfort and safety. Once the barrier was set, the ends of her hair were trimmed, and it was parted into clean, manageable sections.

The transformation started with precision. A custom blend of relaxer was mixed, and to strengthen her hair during the chemical process, Olaplex No.1 was added to the formula while Olaplex No.2 was gently rubbed onto the hair for extra support.

Working meticulously, the relaxer was applied to the mid-shaft area first, focusing on one section at a time. Once that step was complete, attention turned back to the roots—carefully touching up and smoothing each part to ensure uniform texture.

After the relaxer had done its job, it was time to wash it out thoroughly. Her hair was neutralized and then cleansed with Olaplex No.4 shampoo to rebalance and repair.

With her hair rinsed clean, a blow dry brought her strands to life again, followed by a precise trim to keep everything fresh and healthy.

Next came the pre-lightening phase. A gentle formula was mixed using 10-volume developer and Matrix Light Master in equal parts, with Olaplex No.2 added for protection. Her hair was once again sectioned for targeted application. The lightener was applied first to the thickest and darkest parts of her hair, then to the remaining sections for even lifting. Once the lightener was in place, a processing cap was added, and she relaxed for 20 to 30 minutes while the magic happened.

After lightening, her hair was thoroughly rinsed and neutralized once more. Olaplex No.4 shampoo was used to cleanse, followed by No.5 conditioner to restore moisture and elasticity.

With her hair towel-dried, a layer of heat protectant was applied, and it was time to dry the hair completely. Once dry, her chosen hair color was applied with care and allowed to process to perfection.

When the color set, it was rinsed out, followed by a final shampoo and conditioner treatment. The rinse washed away the past—revealing a beautiful new hue and healthy feel.

A second layer of heat protectant was applied, then came the final blow dry, a clean trim, and a sleek flat iron finish to complete her transformation.
